Research in Auxilium College

The Auxilium Research Cell, established in 2008, is committed to fostering a vibrant research culture within the institution. It strives to instill, sustain, and enhance research skills and aptitude among faculty members, undergraduate and postgraduate students, and research scholars. With a focus on addressing contemporary challenges, the Cell encourages the exploration of new horizons across diverse disciplines and emphasizes research that responds to societal needs.

The Research Cell actively promotes research initiatives by encouraging faculty to submit proposals to various funding agencies and to publish their findings in reputed journals. It has also established strategic collaborations with other institutions through Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), enabling the mutual sharing of resources and facilities to enhance collaborative research and publications. The Cell’s agenda includes hosting eminent national and international scientists as visiting experts to inspire and guide budding researchers.

As part of its annual activities, the Research Cell organizes the Mother Cesira Gallina Memorial Lecture, video conferences, workshops, input sessions, seminars, paper presentations, and poster presentations. It has partnered with the Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology (TNSCST), Chennai, and the National Intellectual Property Awareness Mission (NIPAM), New Delhi, to conduct workshops and awareness programmes on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). The Cell also hosts the annual Young Innovators’ Day, a platform that nurtures innovation, creativity, and multidisciplinary thinking among students. This event celebrates scientific achievements and opens new avenues for technological advancement, invention, and career opportunities for the younger generation.

Research endeavours of individual faculty members are supported by major funding agencies such as DST, UGC, and TNSCST. National agencies—including DST-NIMAT, NCW, ICSSR, and the United Board for Christian Higher Education—support research-oriented programmes such as workshops, camps, conferences, and seminars. In addition, the Departments of Chemistry, Zoology, Physics, Mathematics, and Computer Science receive support from the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India, under the FIST (Level-0) programme, which enhances teaching and research facilities and strengthens high-impact research activities.

The academic curriculum equips a large number of students to clear prestigious national and statelevel competitive examinations such as NET, GATE, and SLET. It also prepares them for careers in pharmaceutical and chemical industries, research institutions, and academia, with several students earning placements through campus recruitment. To further promote research excellence, the management has instituted awards, scholarships, seed grants, and incentives for publication, motivating both staff and students to undertake innovative research that addresses the needs of society.
