AIM The Aim of the Department is to continue the education given to the girl child of the district at the university level and thus to uplift them from their low economic and social level and render them capable of giving greater help to their family, neighbourhood and the society at large.To impart scientific knowledge and guidance to explore the hidden areas of life-science.To form women of character and conscience.
VISION STATEMENT The vision of the department is to Educate young women of all categories and to empower them to be leaders.
MISSION STATEMENT To produce in a Salesian atmosphere, intellectually enlightened, spiritually inspired, emotionally balanced, morally upright, socially committed, and accomplished young women who will be agents to social transformation.
OBJECTIVES OF THE DEPARTMENT

07.12.2017 to 08.12.2017 National Conference on Conserve and Co-Exist (NCCC17) Conducted by Department of Zoology, Auxilium College, Vellore.
09.09.2017 State Level Intercollegiate Competition 2 “Celebrating Diversity in Nature”, Conducted by Department of Zoology, Auxilium College, Vellore.
29.10.2020 The PG and Research Dept. of Zoology organized a Webinar on. Dr. Sultan Ahmed Ismail, Director, Ecoscience Research Foundation, Chennai, delivered a Resource Lecture on “SUSTAINABLE LIVING -THE WAY FORWARD FOR EARTH’S SAKE”. He emphasized the Importance of Soil, Vermitech, Effects of pesticides on health, and how to build a Nutrition Garden. 140 participants from different Institutions attended the webinar. The session was inspiring to all the participants.
4.11.2020 via google meet. The Department of Zoology organised Sr. Antoinette Aloysius endowment lecture for II B.Sc., Zoology students on. Dr. Sharon Cynthia, MBBS, M.D., Assistant Professor, Govt. Medical College, Adukamparai, Vellore was the resource person and delivered a lecture on the topic “Entomology and Public Health”. Students were benefitted.

“Wildlife in the world can only be protected by the love of compassionate hearts in the world” by Mehmet Murat Ildan. To create awareness and to protect the wildlife the PG and Research Department of Zoology organized various interdepartmental competitions.

“Each Species is a masterpiece, a creation assembled with extreme care and genius” E.O.Wilson.  To motivate students and to realize the importance of each species the following competitions were conducted

6.02.2021 The Department of Zoology conducted the Sr. Cleofe Fassa Endowment Lecture through online mode on 6.02.2021 for M.Sc.Zoology. Resource person- Dr.Kanagavalli, Assistant Professor, Department of Biochemistry, Adhiparasakthi Arts and Science College, Kalavai delivered the lecture on " Current trends and future prospect of herbal medicine.

Following the talk Master health check up and thyroid check up camp was conducted. About 165 staff and students took part in it.

50 2019 12.10.2019 Students of I M.Sc., and II M.Sc., Zoology went for a field trip to Vellore Science Centre, Raghuram Fish Farm, Walajapet and SIDCO Phase II, Ranipet on 12.10.2019, Saturday. Students visited and learnt the rearing technique of fishes, process of effluent treatment. The visit was very useful and students were highly benefited.
