DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

The Department of Business Administration was launched in the year 1997 offering under graduate course with the vision to groom young women executives to meet the Global needs of the business era. The Department has proudly completed eighteen years to the great appreciation of the people around.

MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

Auxilium College has realized the dreams of young women becoming excellent executives and entrepreneurs by launching Master of Business Administration (MBA) in its campus in the year 2012. The course was started to:

  • Empower the young women especially from the rural background.
  • For capacity building combined with competence and character, and to help them achieve a self-sustained development 
    – a distinctive mark of managerial caliber, so that they can lead a life with integrity, vision, determination and social responsibility.
  • Inculcate values to build human relationship through respect and understanding, igniting in students a passion to work with commitment and dedication, making difference in the competing global scenario.

They were divided into five different groups named Busy Bees, Dazzling Lights, Mersal crew, Black fire and Best friends. The Black fire team was placed first.

  • 2nd September - The department was inaugurated in the presence of Dr. Freda Gnanaselvam, Principal, M.M.E.S College for Women, Melvisharam and Dr Emilda Lilian, Asst. Prof. University of Gondar, Ethopia. They gave shared the insight related to the personality development and how to cope with the level of stress.
  • 28th August - S Rajalakshmi III BBA participated in Inter Divisional Kho-Kho Match and was selected for the university level.
REPORT FOR THE YEAR 2016 - 2017
  • 21st July - The department was inaugurated in the presence of Mr.Venkatesan, Proprietor of Waves Showroom, Vellore. He shared his success and also about the first digital start up of Buymax, Online shopping to the students.
  • 23rd - 26th January - P. Keerthiga III BBA participated in the Samvidhan Live, the project regarding Fundamental rights and duties at New Delhi organised by the constitution club of India. She received a certificate from Honourable President Shri Pranab Mukherjee on the 67th Republic Day of India.
  • 17th - 18th November - Ms.Pavithra III BBA participated in Sanitaion Action Summit held at Mumbai and represented South India for Rural Women.
  • 28th - 11th September - Ms.Pooja Jain and Keerthiga of III BBA attended the India Sri Lanka Youth Exchange Program from in Sri Lanka.
  • 24th - 26th September - Ms.Dhivya III BBA participated in Regional Adolescent Consultation Programme conducted by the UNICEF - Alpha College Chennai  and got selected for the National Level Adolescent Consultation Programme held at VishraYuvakendra, New Delhi from 3rd October to 6th October 2016. She also received a letter of appreciation from UNICEF for her active participation.
  • 12th October - Ms.Nandhini II BBA represented the University in Cricket Match

- The department started its small venture by opening AAVIN Parlor within the campus which was inaugurated by Dr. Sr. UginiFathima Mary, Principal Auxilium College, Vellore.


REPORT FOR THE YEAR 2017 – 18
  • 5th July – Family Life Education programme was conducted in which Dr ShobithaShanthakumari, Psycharist and Social worker, National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences, Bangalore was invited as the chief guest.
  • 5th Oct – 18th Oct – V Nithyasri participated in the 26th Senior National WUSHU (Men’s Women’s Championship) at Rising Sun Sports Complex, Assam Rifel, Laitkor, Shilong.
  • 18th December – the department conducted the association activity in which different games were conducted like Ad-Zap, Skit, Paper Presentation, Poster Presentation, Business Plan, and Business quiz in which students actively participated and won the prizes.
  • 22nd – 25th February – L Saraswathy II BBA participated in the CM Trophy Basket Ball Match and was nominated to be selected in the Tamil Nadu Basket Ball Team.

REPORT FOR THE YEAR 2015 – 16
  • 3rd July – Guest Lecture was organized in which G Sankar, Lecturer, VIT Chennai Campus was invited. He enlightened the students on the on the topic Organizational Behaviour by conducting games.
  • 7th July -  social cause presentation was made on the topic Make In INDIA in which poster presentation , power point presentation was made a small skit related to the topic was also presented by the students
  • 25th -26th JulyAdventurous trip to Yelagiri - Duke of Edinburgh award (Bronze) was successfully completed with the adventurous trip to Yelagiri by 130 students of Auxilium college from MBA,BBA and Com. The students had a two day camp at Don Bosco Retreat centre, Yelagiri. The trip included trekking, camp fire and culturals. Soft skill training was given to the students through sports by Big Bus, Bangalore.
  • 19th August - India –Srilanka Youth Exchange programmeIn the History of Auxilium the first International visit of the staff and students for India – Srilanka Youth Exchange.
  • Program was organized by the department of Business Administration joining hands with the Audacious Dreams Foundation.
  • 13th - 19th August - The Srilankan Team comprising of fifteen students and three co-ordinators visited India. They visited all Historical places in Chennai, Queensland, Brahamakumari meditation centre, Rajiv Gandhi memorial, Vellore Fort, Golden Temple and Hokkenekel. They also visited Institutions like IVDP Krishnagiri, Academy of Prisons and Correctional Administration and VIT University. The Srilankan Youth met Deputy high Commissioner of Srilanka, His Excellency M.K. Patmanathan.InAuxilium College we had India-Srilanka-UK Youth dialogue and they were bid farewell with the cultural programme.
  • 21st August – Guest lecture by Dr A Vasumathi, Asst Professor, VIT University, Vellore was invited as the chief guest to address on the topic CPM vs PERT.
  • 2nd September - Guest lecture was organised in which Dr. K Maran Prof & Director Sri Sai Ram Institute of Management Studies was invited. He addressed on the topic “ Alphabetic Career Guidance for Useful Manager”
  • 16th September – workshop on Stock Trading was organised in which the students of II MBA visited Ambalal Stock Trading and gained practical knowledge about online buying and selling of shares, the analysis of closing prices, how to interpret the expertise advice and the technical analysis.
  • 7th October – workshop on SEBI – Mr T K Sabu, Financial Representative of SEBI was invited as a chief Guest. He spoke on the functions of SEBI and its function.
  • 10th September – Group Discussion was conducted for the final year B.Com (shift I) by the final years MBA students as a part of their HR Club Activity
  • 16th October – as a part of the curriculum the MBA students along with the Faculty members visited TATA Gold Plus Factory, Hosur
  • 5th December – R & R Center for Career Development, Katpadi conducted Workshop on the topic “interview Techniques”. The chief guest was Mr Narayanam VP, TVS Motors, Sholinganallur and Dr SowmiyaNarayanam R & R Center for Career Development was invited as a chief guest.
  • 12th December – Workshop on Research Methodology was organised in which Dr V Ramanathan, KanchiSankara University, Kanchipuram was invited to conduct the workshop.
  • 17th December - HR Club Activity case study presentation was given to the students and the same was presented by the powerpoint presentation by the students.
  • 18th December - Training From EBSCO was given to the students in which Mr Sivananda Krishnan, Trainer EBSCO was invited.
  • 28th January – Association Activity “Management Meet SUPRAYOGA PRAPTI, 2016 was conducted in which students from different colleges were invited and the overall Championship was won by IslamiahWomens College, Vaniyambadi.
  • 12th February – A guest lecture was organised in Mr. J Samuel Johnson, soft Skill Trainer, VIT University Chennai was invited as a chief guest. He gave an insight on the “Group Discussion, Personal Interview and aptitude test.
  • 27th February – As a part of the curriculum the final year students were taken for the industrial visit to Dharani Sugars, Karaipoondi, Chetpet. The students were accompanied by 6 staff members.

  • 2nd July – As a part of Marketing Club Activity the students were asked to create an advertisement on the topic “MBA Admission through banner, poster presentation and audio presentation, newspaper.
  • 12th August - Group Discussion was conducted for the final year B.Com (shift I & II) by the final years MBA students as a part of their HR Club Activity.
  • 6th – 9th October – as a part of the curriculum the final year along with the faculty member visited Madurai
  • 14th October – as a part of the HR Club Activity “Interview Techniques” was conducted for the B.Com ( Shift I)
  • 17th October - Training from EBSCO was given to the students in which Mr Sivananda Krishnan, Trainer EBSCO was invited.
  • 21st October – as a part of the Finance Club Activity the students were taken to Ambalal Stock Trading where the students had a practical exposure related to the online trading of the shares.
  • 25th October – as a part of System Club Activity, a Quiz competition based on General Knowledge was conducted by the Business Standard Newspaper. Three students from I& II MBA won the prizes.
  • 25th November -– As a part of Marketing Club Activity Debate competition was conducted on the topic “For the Advertisement and against the Advertisement”
  • 28th November - workshop on SEBI – Mr T K Sabu, Financial Representative of SEBI was invited as a chief Guest. He spoke on the functions of SEBI and its function.
  • 29th November – Mr John Jills Asst. Manager, Talent Acquisition, AGS Health, Vellore was invited to address the students on the topic “Views about Corporate Culture and Interviewing Skills”.
  • 4th January – Mr Cyril Fernandes, GM (Production) BHEL, Ranipet was invited as the chief guest. He conducted a mock interview for the students based on their field of specialisation and assessed their overall performance.
  • 30th January – Career Development Programme was organised for the students of the I& II MBA in which Mr Emmanuel (Prof, LIBA) was invited as the chief guest.
  • 28th January - as a part of the curriculum the final year along with the faculty member visited Naidu Hall, Ambur
  • 28th February –Mathan, Proffessor of Criminology, APCA, Vellore was invited as the chief guest to address the students on the topic “Human Rights”
  • 4th April - as a part of the HR Club Activity “Group Discussion” was conducted for the final year B.Com (Banking & Insurance)

  • 23 rd June - A guest lecture was conducted to the students of II MBA Dr.Jaya Prakash (Academic trainer at VIT University). This session was about communication development and training to entrance and enrich the communication skills of students.
  • 21 st July- A guest lecture was conducted by Dr. Priscilla on the topic “ Health and Nutrition”
  • 26 th July - New venture of the Business Administration department launched into BHA(Bachelor of Hospital Administration)
  • 26th July -The Department was inaugurated on by Mr.SamuelAbraham(Senior Legal Consultant, CMC) Dr. N.J Sammuel David (Head, Department of Management Studies for Training and Development), Sr. Amalorpavam( Secretary of the Auxilium), Dr.(Sr) Mary Sheila Sussairaj(Vice Principal of Shift II) were the Chief guest for the ceremony.
  • 28th July - A guest lecture was organized on the topic “Women Entrepreneurship” by Manimegalai( Director of Women Studies) Bharathidasan University. The Session was about various women entrepreneur who are successful and the life stories of various women entrepreneur’s were delivered to the students of understand the difficulties and face various challenging circumstances.
  • 23rd Aug - EBSCO training was provided to the students of  I and II MBA by the trainer Nanda Lal T.S.  Students were trained and educated on using the EBSCO network resourcefully.
  • 12th Sep -Various association activities like business quiz, paper presentation, adzap just a minute paper presentation speech best manager and business quiz was conducted to the students of I, II & III BBA & the students of I, II MBA.
  • 19th Sep - A guest lecture was conducted to the student of I & II MBA by Mrs. Freda Ganaselvam(University of Gondar, Ethiopia, Associate Professor from Department of Management Studies) on the topic “ Global Talent Managemnt on Digital Era”.
  • 6th Oct - A training program was hosted by Mr.Sabu (Member of SEBI) at Auxilium College on 6thoct 2017. During the training session students of I & II MBA were told about various security and investment measures to be carried on to make up a successful business as well as various policies and measures taken by SEBI in order to protect investors.
  • 9th Oct- A group discussion session was conducted to the students of BHA and III B.com by the students of II MBA at the Computer block, Seminar Hall.
  • 5th Nov – 13th Nov- An Industrial visit was organized to Delhi. On 7th Nov 2017a visit to TajMahal, Agra was made by the students of I & II MBA, Under the assistance of Mrs.BeulahSuresh(Head of Department) Mrs.Balapriya, Mrs Renuga Devi.
  • 22nd Nov- Interclass Activity on “ Enactment of Television Programmes” was conducted for the students of II MBA students actively Participated. Mrs.BeulahSuresh(Head of Department ) and Mrs DivyaKeerthika (Assistant Professor of Department of Business Administration ) was invited as the juriee members.
  • 28thNov - Collage competition was conducted to the students of II MBA on the theme Cartoons, Tradition, Women.
REPORT FOR THE YEAR 2019 - 2020
  • 4th January 2020. 60 III BBA (Hospital Administration) students and 5 MBA Hospital Specialization students attended the Social Entrepreneurship Workshop in Auxilium College organised by Department. Mr.Anotny Stephen, Head , Department of Social Entrepreneurship, Madras School of Social Work, Chennai was the resource person. The workshop focused on a social entrepreneurship model of Aravind Eye hospital and a hands on training session was given to the students to create business model addressing the current social issues of the society.

E , Assistant professor was the judge. The Sparkles team was placed first.

UG - BACHELOR OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION REPORT FOR THE YEAR 2015 – 16
  • 2nd September - The department was inaugurated in the presence of Dr. Freda Gnanaselvam, Principal, M.M.E.S College for Women, Melvisharam and Dr Emilda Lilian, Asst. Prof. University of Gondar, Ethopia. They gave shared the insight related to the personality development and how to cope with the level of stress.
  • 28th August - S Rajalakshmi III BBA participated in Inter Divisional Kho-Kho Match and was selected for the university level.
REPORT FOR THE YEAR 2016 - 2017
  • 21st July - The department was inaugurated in the presence of Mr.Venkatesan, Proprietor of Waves Showroom, Vellore. He shared his success and also about the first digital start up of Buymax, Online shopping to the students.
  • 23rd - 26th January - P. Keerthiga III BBA participated in the Samvidhan Live, the project regarding Fundamental rights and duties at New Delhi organised by the constitution club of India. She received a certificate from Honourable President Shri Pranab Mukherjee on the 67th Republic Day of India.
  • 17th - 18th November - Ms.Pavithra III BBA participated in Sanitaion Action Summit held at Mumbai and represented South India for Rural Women.
  • 28th - 11th September - Ms.Pooja Jain and Keerthiga of III BBA attended the India Sri Lanka Youth Exchange Program from in Sri Lanka.
  • 24th - 26th September - Ms.Dhivya III BBA participated in Regional Adolescent Consultation Programme conducted by the UNICEF - Alpha College Chennai  and got selected for the National Level Adolescent Consultation Programme held at VishraYuvakendra, New Delhi from 3rd October to 6th October 2016. She also received a letter of appreciation from UNICEF for her active participation.
  • 12th October - Ms.Nandhini II BBA represented the University in Cricket Match

- The department started its small venture by opening AAVIN Parlor within the campus which was inaugurated by Dr. Sr. UginiFathima Mary, Principal Auxilium College, Vellore.


REPORT FOR THE YEAR 2017 – 18
  • 5th July – Family Life Education programme was conducted in which Dr ShobithaShanthakumari, Psycharist and Social worker, National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences, Bangalore was invited as the chief guest.
  • 5th Oct – 18th Oct – V Nithyasri participated in the 26th Senior National WUSHU (Men’s Women’s Championship) at Rising Sun Sports Complex, Assam Rifel, Laitkor, Shilong.
  • 18th December – the department conducted the association activity in which different games were conducted like Ad-Zap, Skit, Paper Presentation, Poster Presentation, Business Plan, and Business quiz in which students actively participated and won the prizes.
  • 22nd – 25th February – L Saraswathy II BBA participated in the CM Trophy Basket Ball Match and was nominated to be selected in the Tamil Nadu Basket Ball Team.

REPORT FOR THE YEAR 2015 – 16
  • 3rd July – Guest Lecture was organized in which G Sankar, Lecturer, VIT Chennai Campus was invited. He enlightened the students on the on the topic Organizational Behaviour by conducting games.
  • 7th July -  social cause presentation was made on the topic Make In INDIA in which poster presentation , power point presentation was made a small skit related to the topic was also presented by the students
  • 25th -26th JulyAdventurous trip to Yelagiri - Duke of Edinburgh award (Bronze) was successfully completed with the adventurous trip to Yelagiri by 130 students of Auxilium college from MBA,BBA and Com. The students had a two day camp at Don Bosco Retreat centre, Yelagiri. The trip included trekking, camp fire and culturals. Soft skill training was given to the students through sports by Big Bus, Bangalore.
  • 19th August - India –Srilanka Youth Exchange programmeIn the History of Auxilium the first International visit of the staff and students for India – Srilanka Youth Exchange.
  • Program was organized by the department of Business Administration joining hands with the Audacious Dreams Foundation.
  • 13th - 19th August - The Srilankan Team comprising of fifteen students and three co-ordinators visited India. They visited all Historical places in Chennai, Queensland, Brahamakumari meditation centre, Rajiv Gandhi memorial, Vellore Fort, Golden Temple and Hokkenekel. They also visited Institutions like IVDP Krishnagiri, Academy of Prisons and Correctional Administration and VIT University. The Srilankan Youth met Deputy high Commissioner of Srilanka, His Excellency M.K. Patmanathan.InAuxilium College we had India-Srilanka-UK Youth dialogue and they were bid farewell with the cultural programme.
  • 21st August – Guest lecture by Dr A Vasumathi, Asst Professor, VIT University, Vellore was invited as the chief guest to address on the topic CPM vs PERT.
  • 2nd September - Guest lecture was organised in which Dr. K Maran Prof & Director Sri Sai Ram Institute of Management Studies was invited. He addressed on the topic “ Alphabetic Career Guidance for Useful Manager”
  • 16th September – workshop on Stock Trading was organised in which the students of II MBA visited Ambalal Stock Trading and gained practical knowledge about online buying and selling of shares, the analysis of closing prices, how to interpret the expertise advice and the technical analysis.
  • 7th October – workshop on SEBI – Mr T K Sabu, Financial Representative of SEBI was invited as a chief Guest. He spoke on the functions of SEBI and its function.
  • 10th September – Group Discussion was conducted for the final year B.Com (shift I) by the final years MBA students as a part of their HR Club Activity
  • 16th October – as a part of the curriculum the MBA students along with the Faculty members visited TATA Gold Plus Factory, Hosur
  • 5th December – R & R Center for Career Development, Katpadi conducted Workshop on the topic “interview Techniques”. The chief guest was Mr Narayanam VP, TVS Motors, Sholinganallur and Dr SowmiyaNarayanam R & R Center for Career Development was invited as a chief guest.
  • 12th December – Workshop on Research Methodology was organised in which Dr V Ramanathan, KanchiSankara University, Kanchipuram was invited to conduct the workshop.
  • 17th December - HR Club Activity case study presentation was given to the students and the same was presented by the powerpoint presentation by the students.
  • 18th December - Training From EBSCO was given to the students in which Mr Sivananda Krishnan, Trainer EBSCO was invited.
  • 28th January – Association Activity “Management Meet SUPRAYOGA PRAPTI, 2016 was conducted in which students from different colleges were invited and the overall Championship was won by IslamiahWomens College, Vaniyambadi.
  • 12th February – A guest lecture was organised in Mr. J Samuel Johnson, soft Skill Trainer, VIT University Chennai was invited as a chief guest. He gave an insight on the “Group Discussion, Personal Interview and aptitude test.
  • 27th February – As a part of the curriculum the final year students were taken for the industrial visit to Dharani Sugars, Karaipoondi, Chetpet. The students were accompanied by 6 staff members.

  • 2nd July – As a part of Marketing Club Activity the students were asked to create an advertisement on the topic “MBA Admission through banner, poster presentation and audio presentation, newspaper.
  • 12th August - Group Discussion was conducted for the final year B.Com (shift I & II) by the final years MBA students as a part of their HR Club Activity.
  • 6th – 9th October – as a part of the curriculum the final year along with the faculty member visited Madurai
  • 14th October – as a part of the HR Club Activity “Interview Techniques” was conducted for the B.Com ( Shift I)
  • 17th October - Training from EBSCO was given to the students in which Mr Sivananda Krishnan, Trainer EBSCO was invited.
  • 21st October – as a part of the Finance Club Activity the students were taken to Ambalal Stock Trading where the students had a practical exposure related to the online trading of the shares.
  • 25th October – as a part of System Club Activity, a Quiz competition based on General Knowledge was conducted by the Business Standard Newspaper. Three students from I& II MBA won the prizes.
  • 25th November -– As a part of Marketing Club Activity Debate competition was conducted on the topic “For the Advertisement and against the Advertisement”
  • 28th November - workshop on SEBI – Mr T K Sabu, Financial Representative of SEBI was invited as a chief Guest. He spoke on the functions of SEBI and its function.
  • 29th November – Mr John Jills Asst. Manager, Talent Acquisition, AGS Health, Vellore was invited to address the students on the topic “Views about Corporate Culture and Interviewing Skills”.
  • 4th January – Mr Cyril Fernandes, GM (Production) BHEL, Ranipet was invited as the chief guest. He conducted a mock interview for the students based on their field of specialisation and assessed their overall performance.
  • 30th January – Career Development Programme was organised for the students of the I& II MBA in which Mr Emmanuel (Prof, LIBA) was invited as the chief guest.
  • 28th January - as a part of the curriculum the final year along with the faculty member visited Naidu Hall, Ambur
  • 28th February –Mathan, Proffessor of Criminology, APCA, Vellore was invited as the chief guest to address the students on the topic “Human Rights”
  • 4th April - as a part of the HR Club Activity “Group Discussion” was conducted for the final year B.Com (Banking & Insurance)

  • 23 rd June - A guest lecture was conducted to the students of II MBA Dr.Jaya Prakash (Academic trainer at VIT University). This session was about communication development and training to entrance and enrich the communication skills of students.
  • 21 st July- A guest lecture was conducted by Dr. Priscilla on the topic “ Health and Nutrition”
  • 26 th July - New venture of the Business Administration department launched into BHA(Bachelor of Hospital Administration)
  • 26th July -The Department was inaugurated on by Mr.SamuelAbraham(Senior Legal Consultant, CMC) Dr. N.J Sammuel David (Head, Department of Management Studies for Training and Development), Sr. Amalorpavam( Secretary of the Auxilium), Dr.(Sr) Mary Sheila Sussairaj(Vice Principal of Shift II) were the Chief guest for the ceremony.
  • 28th July - A guest lecture was organized on the topic “Women Entrepreneurship” by Manimegalai( Director of Women Studies) Bharathidasan University. The Session was about various women entrepreneur who are successful and the life stories of various women entrepreneur’s were delivered to the students of understand the difficulties and face various challenging circumstances.
  • 23rd Aug - EBSCO training was provided to the students of  I and II MBA by the trainer Nanda Lal T.S.  Students were trained and educated on using the EBSCO network resourcefully.
  • 12th Sep -Various association activities like business quiz, paper presentation, adzap just a minute paper presentation speech best manager and business quiz was conducted to the students of I, II & III BBA & the students of I, II MBA.
  • 19th Sep - A guest lecture was conducted to the student of I & II MBA by Mrs. Freda Ganaselvam(University of Gondar, Ethiopia, Associate Professor from Department of Management Studies) on the topic “ Global Talent Managemnt on Digital Era”.
  • 6th Oct - A training program was hosted by Mr.Sabu (Member of SEBI) at Auxilium College on 6thoct 2017. During the training session students of I & II MBA were told about various security and investment measures to be carried on to make up a successful business as well as various policies and measures taken by SEBI in order to protect investors.
  • 9th Oct- A group discussion session was conducted to the students of BHA and III B.com by the students of II MBA at the Computer block, Seminar Hall.
  • 5th Nov – 13th Nov- An Industrial visit was organized to Delhi. On 7th Nov 2017a visit to TajMahal, Agra was made by the students of I & II MBA, Under the assistance of Mrs.BeulahSuresh(Head of Department) Mrs.Balapriya, Mrs Renuga Devi.
  • 22nd Nov- Interclass Activity on “ Enactment of Television Programmes” was conducted for the students of II MBA students actively Participated. Mrs.BeulahSuresh(Head of Department ) and Mrs DivyaKeerthika (Assistant Professor of Department of Business Administration ) was invited as the juriee members.
  • 28thNov - Collage competition was conducted to the students of II MBA on the theme Cartoons, Tradition, Women.
REPORT FOR THE YEAR 2019 - 2020
  • 4th January 2020. 60 III BBA (Hospital Administration) students and 5 MBA Hospital Specialization students attended the Social Entrepreneurship Workshop in Auxilium College organised by Department. Mr.Anotny Stephen, Head , Department of Social Entrepreneurship, Madras School of Social Work, Chennai was the resource person. The workshop focused on a social entrepreneurship model of Aravind Eye hospital and a hands on training session was given to the students to create business model addressing the current social issues of the society.
