Objective



The Career Guidance and Placement Cell focuses on the assistance and guidance for the students in discovering their strengths, sharpening their interests and planning for their career development through various programmes such as orientation seminars, training programmes on soft skills, etc.

Advisory Committee Meeting



2017-2018

The advisory committee meeting for the academic year 2017-2018 was held in the mid of July. Rev. Sr. Mary Josephine Rani A, Principal was the chairperson. Following are the topics on which suggestions and discussion were made:

  1. Maintaining database of students to refer them for suitable job vacancies.
  2. Conducting campus interviews for reputable and professional organizations.
  3. Training students for their professional careers.
  4. Preparing them for competitive civil service exams, higher studies and choosing a rewarding career.
  5. Conducting exclusive training programs on Behavioral and soft skills and personality developments.
  6. Assisting students in discovering their strengths, sharpening their interests and planning for a satisfying future.
  7. Conducting Training programme especially for students to take part in campus drive for IT sectors.

2019-2020

The advisory committee meeting for the academic year 2019-2020 was held in the mid of July. Rev. Sr. Regina Mary R., Principal was the Chairperson.   Following are the topics on which suggestions and discussion were made:

  1. Organizing job oriented courses.
  2. Conducting campus interviews for reputable and professional organizations.
  3. Training students for their professional careers.
  4. Preparing them for competitive civil service exams, higher studies and choosing a rewarding career.
  5. Conducting exclusive training programs on Behavioural and Soft Skills and Personality Developments.
  6. Assisting students in discovering their strengths, sharpening their interests and planning for a satisfying future.
  7. Conducting Training programme especially for students to take part in campus drive for IT sectors.

Orientation Program for Post Graduates and UG Final Year Students



Orientation Program for UG Final Year Students:
24thAugust, 2016

The Career Guidance and Placement Cell organized an orientation program for final year UG students. The students were given orientation lecture regarding the activities of the cell to prepare themselves for different jobs and to appear for various competitive exams. Motivational talk was given by Ms.Muthulakshmi A., Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Application to all the final year students.

Orientation Program for Higher Education:
21thDecember 2016

The Placement Cell organized a programme to facilitate career opportunities. All UG final year students attended the orientation program organized by the AZIM Premji University, Bangalore.

Orientation Program for Post Graduates and UG Final Year Students:

Dr.Thanga Ganesan, Mr. Selva Murugan and Dr.M.R Venkatesan explained about the TNPSC ONLINE APPLICATION DEMO and about UPSC, Bank, Post office exams. Students were interested to buy Online Application for their skill development purpose.

Orientation programme - Corporate Secretaryship:
21stAugust 2018

Ms.Nishita Singhal C.S. explained about the corporate secretaryship and the opportunities in the corporate world. She encouraged the students to be a Secretary of reputed companies. Around 182 students from the Department of Commerce attended the programme on 21.08.2018.

Awareness Programme for PG:
22ndJuly 2019

Career Awareness Program was held on 22ndJuly 2019. The Resource Person of the day was Mr.Sathivel, Pemship Pvt Ltd, Business Consultant, Vellore. Ms. Pooja explained about information technologies, Frontend, Backend connections of programming languages. She presented a short video foe the students to create awareness for choosing the right job based on their own interest. Mr.Sathivel gave an encouraging speech about the small and large scale industries. He also gave various ideas for all PG students for building own career platform. This session enlightened students to learn, practice and make a clear decision about their career.

Orientation Programme - Career Opportunities for 12thstandard students:
25thJanuary 2019

Orientation programme was organized for 12thstandard students in Mary Immaculate Girls Higher Secondary School, Tirupattur on 25.01.2019. Mr. P. Sundarraj, Project Coordinator, OHET, VIT, Vellore addressed the students about the future scope for higher studies, best courses and best colleges to learn. He explained about the scholarships offered by VIT to the students for higher studies. Ms. Amalarathinam A., Assistant Professor of Mathematics, Auxilium College, Vellore addressed the students about the Don Bosco’s life and explained the educative methods of Don Bosco. Further, Ms.Keerthana T. of III B.Sc Mathematics, K.Swetha and P.Monica of III B.Com motivated the students to pursue higher education.

Orientation Program for PG Computer science and Mathematics Students:
22ndJuly 2019

The career Awareness programme was conducted for 18 (M.Sc. Computer science) and 75 (M.Sc. Mathematics) students by PEM-CHIP Info tech on the topic Talk on Technologies and new platform in career. Ms.Pooja explained about the Information Technologies, Frontend and Backend Connections of programming languages. She created an awareness to choose the right job with interest. Mr. Sathivel, Business consultant encouraged the students with his speech about small and large scale industries and gave various ideas to create their own career platform. The session helped the students to make a clear decision about their career.
